Congratulations to Adam and Zach!

At the Hunt Valley regional last week, Adam and Zach Grossack both went over 10,000 points to achieve their Grand Life Master status. I'm afraid I've lost count of how many national titles they each have but it's at least three. As a fellow Boston-area bridge player I'm really proud of their achievements. Two finer ambassadors for "bridge is not only for old people" could hardly be found!

Incidentally, Zach is now the youngest GLM ever, taking that title from Justin Lall, I believe.

Adam got his, technically, on Thursday when his team (Eric Schwartz, Harrison Luba and Zach) came 2nd in the KOs (losing to the Meckwell team). Zach had to wait until Friday when he and Harrison won the open pairs.

I've never played with Adam sitting opposite me but I've known him to do some dastardly things at the table. A recent one I recall was leading low from Kx at a suit contract. Instead of down 1, I ended up down three--doubled!

OTOH, I've had the pleasure of playing with Zach a few times. Mind you, he was only about 12 or 13 at the time! But it was abundantly clear even then that he was destined for greatness in the bridge world.

Congratulations to each of you. You are a credit to bridge.
