Convention Chart Madness

For some reason I was inspired to look at the Conditions of Contest (CoC) for the North American Pairs (NAP) to be held at the Spring Nationals. I was stunned to discover the following Convention Charts are to be used :

Flight A : Open, Flight B : Basic+, Flight C : Basic

For comparison, I looked at the CoC for the Fall Nationals currently running in Hawaii. The CoC for the Spring and Summer Nationals have not been updated to the new charts.

Fall NABC CoC show all national events will be using the Open+ Chart except the Mini Blue Ribbon Pairs (Open Chart). Even the 0-10,000 Swiss and the 0-10,000 Fast Pairs are using the Open+ Chart. It is probably an oversight, but the Senior Mixed Pairs is still shown as Mid-Chart.

That means that the Flight A NAP is the only unlimited national event that is restricted to the Open Chart. As strange as that is, I think restricting Flights B and C of the NAP to Basic+ and Basic is even worse.

Maybe I am in a small minority to think this way, but I think that Flight A should be using the Open+ Chart, and that Flights B and C should be using (at least) the Open Chart.
