Just noticed this from the copyright notice in the front of the new law book I downloaded from the ACBL website the other day.

"No part of this book may be reproduced or utilized in any form or by any means, electronic or mechanical, including photocopying, recording, or by any information storage and retrieval system without permission in writing from the ACBL."

So 1) where is my written permission to download this document? 2) where is my written permission to make a copy of this pdf to put on my tablet so I can use it when directing? 3) where is my written permission to print this document if I want to use a printed copy for some purpose? 3) Am I going to jail if I do any of that stuff without the ACBL's written permission, which I don't have?

Why does legal boilerplate always sound like a threat?
