Eligibility for events restricted by masterpoints - too lenient or just right?

As another NABC drifts off into the sunset, I'm curious on people's thoughts about eligibility for limited events.

Given the proliferation of internationals and strong juniors (from all countries) at NABCs, should masterpoints be the only restriction? What if you were not eligible for a limited event (everything up to 0 - 6,000 events; I believe the newer 0 - 10,000 should go by masterpoints only) if you have won an event that makes you eligible for Grand Life Master*?

* Grand Life Master: Victory required in a North American Bridge Championship (excluding the Super Senior Pairs, the Wagar Women’s KO won after 2013 and the Machlin Women’s Swiss Teams won after 2013) with no upper masterpoint restriction or an Open Team Trials (includes CNTC) or its equivalent or a Women’s Team Trials (includes CWTC) or its equivalent or any of the following WBF events: Bermuda Bowl, Venice Cup, Rosenblum Cup, McConnell Cup, Open Pairs, Women’s Pairs, Olympiad, Women’s Team Olympiad, WBF Senior Pairs event, WBF World Swiss Teams, WBF World Mixed Teams, and WBF Senior Teams.

Eligibility in 0 - 6,000 events and below should be by masterpoints only
Players who have won an event qualifying them for GLM should not be eligible for 0 - 6,000 events and below
