Follow-up for reverse (after 1nt response)

Opener    Responder

    1x           1NT

    2y            ??

x < y < NT

Follow-up 1:

2y+1 = Value-showing (if it < 2NT), F1. Opener could bid 2NT if he have stopper in 4th suit.

2NT = Potential sign-off (lebensohl-like), request opener bid 3.

3NT = 11-12 (if x = ), else via 2NT.

Others = Natural and GF.

Follow-up 2:

2y+1 = Potential sign-off , F1. Opener could relay if no other better bidding. This allows partnership sign-off in 2NT (if y < ).

2NT = Natural and GF (if y < ).

Others = As follow-up 1.

Follow-up 3:

Transfer starts 2y+1 (or 2y+2 if y = ). Opener accepts the transfer if he would have passed a non-forcing bid from responder, otherwise opener breaks the relay. If responder has a stronger hand he would bid again.

If y = , 2 = Potential sign-off , F1. Opener could bid 2NT if appropriate, or relay if no other better bidding. This allows partnership sign-off in 2NT.
