Is Bridge World recommended line really best?

Hello,

I was surprised by the recommended line for "Improve Your Play" problem B in the Sept. Bridge World.  South plays in 6 at rubber bridge with these declarer/dummy cards:

North
AK83
A106
105
AK74
South
62
874
AKQ6432
3
W
N
E
S
1
P

The recommended line is:

Line 1:

Win A in dummy.  Continue with K and a 3rd , ruffed low in hand (if East follows)   Only now, play a top .  If s are not 4-0/0-4, draw trump and claim at least 12 tricks.   If s prove to be 4-0/0-4, win 3 rounds of s, then use dummy's remaining entries   (AK, A in that order) to ruff and two s (in that order) for 12 tricks if all goes well.

To me, this line seems to suffer from the obvious deficiency of (quite possibly) failing when, for example, West has a stiff or doubleton (whence he can ruff or over-ruff in that suit) with trumps not 4-0/0-4.

The following alternative line is 100% if s are not 4-0/0-4 and may still make on one of various squeeze chances even if they are:

Line 2:

Win A in dummy and play a to hand immediately.  Claim (at least) 12 tricks if both follow.  If s are 4-0/0-4, concede a and hope to   make on a squeeze.

A hybrid alternative line is:

Line 3:

Win A in dummy and ruff a small club low in hand.  If this wins, now play a high as in line 2.  We make if trumps not 4-0/0-4.  If they are,   we can revert to "Line 1" by drawing 3 rounds of trumps, entering dummy with a , cashing K and ruffing a , etc.  This might fail when Line 1 would have succeeded if K (now played on 3rd round) is ruffed, although there are still squeeze chances.

To me, it appears that both "Line 2" and "Line 3" are better than the Bridge World recommended Line 1.  There may even be other variations with merit.

What do you think?

Line 1 (Bridge World choice) is best
Line 2 (draw trump fast) is best
Line 3 (hybrid--ruff at trick 2) is best
Other: I've got a better line still (please explain)
