Reopening double after 1NT response to minor

I am sure this is a FAQ but don't know how to search old articles.  After a minor-suit opening and 1NT response followed by two passes, different people play this as either asking for an unbid suit or a "trap pass" asking for lead of opener's suit, while inviting partner to double if opponents run to something in which he has length.  Mike Lawrence's book on balancing seemed to prefer either "trap pass" or "look at your hand and decide what partner wants," while leaving this as a matter for partnership discussion.  Has there been a more recent book that addresses this issue?
