(Note: Only West hand is accurately portrayed. The rest of the hands are only relevant in shape.)

I was South, and my screen mate was West.

I made 3H, and as it is, 3S also makes. Opponents appealed on the basis that had I alerted 2S, my screen mate (West) would have bid 3S over 3C. Here are the aspects of this case:

1. 1C and 2D were alerted

2. I only alerted 2D, and the only bids I know for sure to have been alerted by partner are 2D and 2S. My screen mate did not ask about the bidding following 2D, nor did he alert the double of 2D.

3. My partner believed we agreed on a meaning of 2S

4. I did not remember any agreements, and the agreement was not on our WBF CC

5. I had an idea of 2S was as I knew partner was an aggressive bidder and thus 2S being natural was extremely unlikely. I also played against multi before with the same partner, and I learned of how other players played 2S. I believed that the way they play it was probably ubiquitous as our Multi defense sheet only gave one defense against the auction of 2D-2S, which probably means that there is only one meaning for 2S.

6. Our opponents played multi too, and they played 2S the way my partner intended it to be and how I took it to be

The director ruled it in our opponents' favor, changing the score from 3H making for us to 3S making for the opponents. What do you think of this ruling? Does West have a reasonable 3S bid? Do I have to alert 2S as what I took it as, even if I did not remember any agreements? Should the fact that there were no agreements on the CC play any part in this?

I agree with the ruling
I disagree with the ruling because I believe 3S cannot be reasonably bid by West
I disagree with the ruling because there was nothing on the CC and the OP does not need to explain things that are not definitive
I disagree with the ruling because of some other reasons
