Toronto NABC Reservations Now Open (Sold Out?)

The  ACBL reservations for the Toronto Summer NABC July 20 (19) - 30, 2017 opened today. There are three hotels, all $164 CDN ($125 US) plus taxes. Only the InterContinental Hotel is attached to the Metro Toronto Convention Center which is where all the events will be played. The Royal York is approximately half a kilometer down the street while the Westin Harbour Castle is just over 1 kilometer (hopefully, shuttle buses will be provided).

I checked out the reservation page for the InterContinental at Try to reserve a room with two double beds and it claims that three nights (Wed, Thurs & Sat, July 26, 27 & 29) are SOLD OUT. The remaining nights indicate a tiny number of rooms available. There are concierge level rooms available at CDN $224. Only the Fairmont Royal York indicates a reasonable 500 rooms available for sale.

Is this really possible? Sold out the day reservations open? Or is it a computer glitch?

The Spring NABC this March in Kansas City had rooms for $99 plus taxes. They sold out by early December, a full three months before the start of the tournament. Now the ACBL is advertising rooms for $159 and $179!

Perhaps "ACBL Official" will check in and explain what is happening and why.

NOTE: The ACBL web site does not say this but for ACBL members over 65 (many of us), the comfortable Union Pearson Express train from the airport to Union Station (across the street from the Royal York) is just $6 CDN each way. Regular adult fare is $12 (compare to $50 taxis).
