Before you all start complaining about my 1 overcall (rather than a takeout double), we tend to overcall on a lot of hands where others double first -- not arguing that it's right, but it works for us and it is what my partner is used to with her other regular partner. At any rate, her splinter of 4 got me so excited that I didn't think things through and just bid the heart slam. However, if I had known what the distribution around the table was, I could have doubled 5 for 1100 and another couple of IMPs vs the datum (well, just short of two IMPs) on a club lead, which would net her two ruffs in addition to her trump Ace and my three top spades.
