USBF Jr/Pro Charity Team Game - 12/21 @ 4PM EST on BBO

♠♥♣♦ Tis the season to give back to the bridge community; Barry Goren is bringing cheer to USBF Jrs and BBO fans. ♠♥♣♦

Earlier this year, Goren was the highest bidder for Bob Hamman, Curtis Cheek and Bart Bramley for a BBO speedball game in the BridgeWinners’ auction by Platinum CEM in support of ACBL’s partnership with Alzheimer’s Association The Longest Day.

To continue his altruism, Goren created a USBF Jr/Pro Charity Game so that the juniors he mentors can get the experience of playing with these championship all-stars. Together with Lindsey Weinger, who powered the auction and led The Longest Day Efforts in NYC, they’ve planned a charity team game that will be broadcast to all bridge friends via BBO Viewgraph at 4pm EST on Sunday, December 21st.

“I bought 3 pros (Hamman, Cheek and Bramley) in the “Longest Day" auction for treatment of Alzheimer’s. This has morphed into a Jr/pro team game where each of my pros and myself will partner with a junior in a 16 board team match.”

Adding to the fun, legendary Larry Cohen, Joe Grue, Michael & Debbie Rosenberg will be commentating.

Join us on the Shortest Day to support the Longest Day - December 21st at 4PM EST on BBO Vugraph.

♥ With your help we can continue to bring you bridge related events – charity games, auctions and raffles – but we need your participation. ♥

The program is open to all players who qualify as juniors.Michael Rosenberg and Barry Goren are co-organizers. Currently we have about 80 active participants ranging in age from 11-24. We meet on Sundays and Mondays for formal training, with a casual session played on Thursdays. With the help of some of the best players and coaches in the world, we trained and sent 5 teams to the last world championships in Istanbul. One team succeeded in securing a silver medal in the under-21 competition.
