Why playing NT is better.

1. You can duck a lead 3-4 times and still make a game, if you do that in major you will get ruffed.

2. You can protect your unsupported Kings, AQs by bidding NT from the "right" side.

3. You can bid slams with unsupported Kings from the right side.

4. You can make more points with same number of tricks

5. When you open a NT your partner knows what you have - yes they too.

6. When you respond to a suit with a NT partner knows what you have - play semiforcing NT.

7. When you open a NT defenders can't overcall as easy as when you open a major. Because;

a- RHO is not sure if she has to balance, because responder won't bid anything even with 8 points.

b- both opponents know that the opener has 2-3 cards in their suit

c- the opponents may not have enough points to bid anything in 2 level, so that a NT hand can get away with playing 1NT with 15 points opposite 0

d- Responder can bid a garbage stayman with 0 points, and opponents won't know

e- opponents sometime can't double with equal or much better hand because their partner will bid something

8. They can’t usually lead a singleton, doubleton, A, and usually had to find a 4th best or struggle. Or they can lead under A, just to lose to an unsupported K or even a single K. And could be too late to have a second chance

9. When they lightner double you, you can escape to 6NT and make it! thanks to additional info from defense about the distribution and thanks to NT of course!

10. If there is nothing else to bid, you can always bid a NT

11. You remember the famous quotes from the “Spinal Tap”?

Nigel : Most amps go up to ten ,You're on ten here, all the way up, you're on ten on your guitar. Where can you go from there? Where?

Marty: I don't know.

Nigel: Nowhere. Exactly. What we do is, if we need that extra push over the cliff, you know what we do?

Marty: Put it up to eleven.

Nigel:Eleven. Exactly. One louder!,Yes one louder, when others reach slam or a grand slam they stop there, but you can look for NT; one louder :)

12. lastly, when you bid a NT first, they can't bid NT :)

13. lastly #2, if you can bid NT but you don’t , partner knows that there is something very unusual :)

What else?
