3NT
?

These are the hands that try my soul. I get to a normal 3NT contract via a forcing 1D opening. LHO leads the 3 of Spades. I play small and RHO thnks for a l-o-n-g time and plays the S 10. How should I continue?

Well, if spades are 4-4 I can play AK and another Club if the Q doesn't drop, then rely on the heart finesse for my 9th trick. On the other hand I can cross to the Heart A and take the Club finesse. I play the Club K. LHO drops the 10. My play?

I don't know what to do and that's my problem. The true experts seem to know, not always but most of the time. I see this over and over again on Viewgraph. The expert gets to this point and goes into a tank. The commentators discuss the probabilities, are spades 4-4, is the Q10 of Clubs doubleton on and on until one commentator says, "I thik he'll go right on this." Sure enough, if the Q10 is doubleton the expert bangs the A. If not he takes the winning finness unless the finesse loses that is. In that case the Spades are 4-4 and the Heart Q is onside.

I know that nobody else gets to 3NT on these cards and when, not if, when, I go wrong I will get zero match points.

Yep, that's what happened. Zero match points and 4th overall instead of 8 match points an 1st overall. How about you?
