If I had a vote, I would make the event illegal going forward. Allowing it for top bracket is not because top players want it but rather because few teams want to play in the top bracket.

I have found it is rarely right to offer unsolicited advice. Obviously the woman overreacted, but pointing out opponents mistakes even in the nicest way can cause problems.

I think information should be recorder as soon as possible to avoid disputes. Since there are no acbl rules, I never complain about how my opponent wants to use the bridgemate, and feel telling them is impolite.

There was a clear break in tempo on board 26. Our pair was having trouble with 2d and 2h showing good hands with the black suits. They both knew they didnt know which showed which, and guessed differently.

Yes. They surveyed to see if anyone doubled and got very fee, not telling anyone the people involved. So the director gave a small percentage of 3ntx down 2 and the rest 3nt down 2

As far as the second hand, we never said anything but that he had to bid 3nt. The director then surveyed how many people would double and assigned a score based on that. I am not sure why this is a double standard. We appealed nothing and never said our pairs acted perfectly. Two things happened that required director calls and the directors ruled. I understand being disappointed or upset, but dont think this is the place for it. I think you should ask the moderators yo delete the post and handle it privately. I did talk to Peter for a while and think we understand each other even if we do not agree on everything.

The ridiculous technicality was playing a prealertable convention, 3s as anganbling 3nt without the required prealert and suggested defense. The pair then had an accident with the convention that they never would have had if the pair playing the convention had bothered to check the rules. Should the corn team win because their pair does not follow the rules and disclose according to the regulations where the accident never would have happened if they had the suggested defences. It is irrelevant if you believe they shouldn't be required, does anyone feel that you should win a match you never would have won if the pair had followed the rules. I personally like the people I know in your team, but would never want to win because the opponents had an accident when I didnt prepare them. My team prealerts Flannery and explains when our carding is count or suit preference before we start. Your team has a list of artificial openings and leaves this off of it and then complains. The second comment is very personal and beneath you Les.

Everyone is answering assuming what south thought his bid meant. If the director never asked them it is his fault. Also this is a club game, don't kill them for not knowing their system, you would lose half the field.

Judgement can be very different. Once playing at a regional with qx 10xx akqjxx xx one table opened 1nt 15 17 and one a weak 2. Both were professionals.
