2NT does not have any merit. Why force partner to play at the 3-level when partner can play at the two-level?

I held the West hand and passed for -70 and 28%.
If you defeat 1 by one trick you will get 39%.
Doubling was the winner. If you double partner will bid spades and will take nine tricks for 80%

Too many negatives: a bad suit, good 3 card fragments in the majors.

2 does not deprive EW of any bidding space and in fact gives west two extra calls - double and pass. By bidding 3 EW must start their auction a level higher.

A 7-card suit is not needed to pre-empt at favourable.

Did partner forget to cue raise?
Did I bid 3 to remind myself that I overcalled 1?
