I have a balanced 12 count. One less club than I showed . Good defense against them . Whats the problem ? If partner doesnt like it at least he has been warned

The problem with leading the J is that there is no guarantee partner returns the suit when he gets in

Amazingly your answer was my original comment . The why refers to having to put something in a deleted space as opposed to just canceling the comment

Interesting issue and not one that is highly discussed as we see from the vote. My Bridge instincts say if you want to create a non forcing auction u pass or you rebid your own suit . So by definition if you change suits you should have at least distributional extras. One also nees to define the second auction cause after a 1D opening u have an easy 2D Q that takes up no space, While a 3c Q over 2D takes up a lot of space so even more reason to play new suit forcing

Strangely when I first looked at the auctions I thought hand 2 was more likely to be forcing than hand 1 totally opposite Josh's view

Looking at the J of spades kinda suggests that partner CANT know that a spade will beat it

King of hearts is a better abstain card in my opinion. I falsecard cause I want them to hook Qs into partner's hand

The 6 of s is important cause if it was the 5 you couldn't score a beer at the end

Not to mention those that play 2D as a possible Walsh relay and might not have hearts. I don't want to have to ask the question when I am considering a call
