I will say in regards to your first point, that I did play on an open U26 event with two women on my team. But I've also been around long enough to know that's the exception. They are two people that I imagine would be pretty thrilled to get another shot though.

For what it's worth and related to my comment on the other thread it's possible for multi itself to have a negative imp expectation and still be correct when it frees up your 2 and 2 bids to be something that is overwhelmingly (relatively speaking) net positive.

I've always been of the opinion the real value of multi comes from freeing up 2H and 2S for more interesting bids.

This – Why does everyone think a club lead is expected here?

I think this was single-handedly the most on-edge/excited I've ever felt watching a bridge match. Epic barely does this match justice.
What a fantastic final set.

The hand you have to ask yourself would partner bid again with is Axxxx AKxxx x xx. And I think the answer is no. So maybe I should join the 3 ‘ers.

Partner was supposed to take a different call earlier in the auction if that's his hand.

North is a game force opposite a 1 opener in my opinion and I play with people who open lighter than most. I'm still not sure I would get to 6 and don't feel great about being in 6

I score 9 trumps and 3 red cards or 8 trumps 3 red cards and the K, all without a squeeze

The squeeze doesn't matter due to the cross ruff right?

Well at the Vegas nationals in 2014, Oren and I did walk into a bar. I hadn't been carded all week (I was 20 at the time, so was he), but lo and behold Oren lowers the average apparent age of a group by several years. The whole party got carded.

How about “South should have balanced with something other than double” rather than “How can you balance with a 7 count”?
Not that pass with the north hand is clear.

They both sound like suit preference to me.

“We can easily cancel with XX requesting a choice…” That is until your partner with their balanced 6 count bids 3nt and it goes smash.

@Jan - it's different in so much as partner can't afford to raise to 3nt with a 6-7 count if it's possible you have not that hand.
