I always stress that you will never be alone. No matter where you are or go you will find a bridge club and someone wants to play. Go to dinner with, travel with. It lasts a lifetime and can be enjoyed at all levels. Don’t grow old without learning.

Let the players pick. 100% to open event, all conventions allowed, this will draw lots of young people. 60% to regular players who just want an enjoyable game. 35% to relaxed game. Lots accumulate points over the years, but as you age you just want to play. Ignore MP as a qualifier, if you want to get beat up and spit out and learn, that’s your choice.

I truly dislike 2/1. You are really only talking about a Queen or King. With the garbage openings these days and stretches to respond at two level, the score sheet is usually game down 1 or 2. The only reason to play 2/1 is with a forcing club system. Now you can’t overbid. The other reason if playing pairs, the auctions are duplicated at all the tables, tough to win.

It's so nice when two such nice fellows and good players win. They always have such a kind upbeat attitude. WTG - well done.

I use to spend so much energy pointing things out and calling the director on these infractions, I finally figured out to stay calm, use the info they are conveying to their partner who may or may not be tuned in and use it to my benefit. Not drawing attention to wake up their partner works well.

The game is for the players and not the ACBL Allow all players to choose the bracket they wish to compete in. You know your level, the master points are attendance records. Lots of seniors have played forever and want to play where they can enjoy, don't force them higher. This seems so simple.

It sounds wonderful. Reminds me pre stratification when everyone knew each other and we all learned from others and tried to beat just one more pair. Since strata no one knows the up and coming players when Flight A is stand alone.

Why not list events as 1. 2,3,4 and 5. Enter which ever level u want, male or female with graduated points and colours and pros must always be in 1. Problem solved.

Why not have a couple events over two afternoons or two evenings. There are many seniors who would be very happy with one session a day and still play a double session. Good for locals who may have to work.
