Kx akqxx qx kxxx is a typical hand. You know partner has 5 hts you need something better than 2 small here to go.

I agree with Steve. If you start with 4d then bid 4s over 4hts you get your suits involved and probably will get you to the right strain as long as you don’t get too high

I think it is very close. With the j of spades I would bid 5cl

2nt I bet will put more than anything else. Partner almost surely doesn’t Have a trap pass and either they may not lead diamonds or they might be Blocked. If you dbl all continuations are flawed.

The ten of spades makes passing 3nt enticing but so many hands 4hts is better and when in doubt do what the majority of the field will do

Pass and bidding 5hts doesn’t show doubt about strain to me It shows a better hand. I think it is close between just bidding
5hts and pass and pull. I would pass and pull if I thought partner And I were on the same page. I don’t think pass and pull showsDoubt about the strain. I would definitely bid 3cl in competition With partners hand. I think it is close to bidding 3 cl even without Competition even though I wouldn’t do it.

Josh
I am sure if you run a simulator pass will turn out to be a long term winner

So I was most upset about the coffee housing going on after every hand. When there are time constraints I don't care if they take a super long time in the play or bidding but to take time after every hand to see what you can make is rediculous.

If you are not going to play 2/1 I can't imagine how 2sp would not create a gf. If you have less than a gf with 5+d and 4 sp either respond 1sp or just rebid diamonds and don't show spades
