“Possible use of UI”? Oh, my! This West needs a PP in the worst way, if for no other reason than to discourage a repeat performance.

I hope that West has a difficult night's sleep tonight. I know hundreds who try to take advantage of the alert procedure. Hopefully they never sit across from me.

Hate to ask what 2NT would have shown in this scheme.

Having attended a few Canadian Thanksgiving meals, I have always wondered whether I would be served mashed potatoes & gravy or that disgusting concoction called poutine, brown gravy slathered over french fries served with cheese curds. Mercifully……

It is not always about you, Ed. The comment was directed to the OP, Mr. Pavlicek's (director).

I would suggest that your director go to Remedial Directing 101 & bring his copy of the rule book to the table whilst he becomes familiar with the proper ruling here.

Flight A pairs is fun. Anything less, stratified/stratiflighted/open not so much anymore. Too much randomness for my liking. Give me a good old-fashioned KO anytime, though one client & 4/5 great pros certainly makes it more difficult to continually advance.

Slight correction. First we got high, then we lost more than we could afford to, then we got higher. BUT, an ounce of weed was only $10.

That was ‘63-’73, NOT '93.

Barry, am guessing that verbiage & contractions used in text messages today must drive you crazy…

What has changed? Global warming & more big & medium-sized city gangs. Oh, and in club games it seems fewer big clubbers, but way more variance in opening NT ranges, especially more 10-12.

Wrong, wrong, wrong Ian. On Jeopardy, you don't answer questions - but your answers must be in question form.

Am surprised that Mike didn't answer along the lines of “find a different event to enter in the first place”.

When dummy has Qxx, opening leader can see my attitude, so this becomes a count situation, Bob. Not only do you play the Jack, but you do not dither about it, you play it in perfect tempo. Did West really bid 4C, after already bidding 3C?? For, if so, they need to learn basic bidding concepts. Playing partner for being both deaf & blind is extremely poor for a partnership.
Bernard, above, sums it all up perfectly.

The biggest problem I foresee is thus. Those who are adept at the game know who they are. Poorer players are more apt to walk away when the raw data gets digested and it is “proven” how inept they are.
