My dad joined the ACBL Board of Directors when I was 8 years old, so I have known Joan for most of my life. She did so much to help promote the game we all love. She will be deeply missed.

Good luck Gavin and Kevin! If you win, maybe we can convince you to create another Road to Victory series :)

Fred,
Do you have any funny anecdotes about Steve from when he was younger you can share? Do you two ever play together for fun when you get together?

Thanks for being in the well!

Congratulations Eugene and Helen! I think all weddings I go to should now have a bridge game. That was so much fun!

As for my low diamond play, let me just say this. When you are me and Steve Weinstein is kibitzing you, you have to take advantage and try to impress him with a big play :) When it doesn't work you can claim you were gifting the groom :)

Hi Ish,
Thank you so much for being in the well!

My husband and I are thinking about planning a trip to Australia next year, and I wanted some travel advice. If we were going to chose one part of Australia, besides Sydney to visit what area do you think we should chose?

Thanks and congratulations!

Erin

Steve,
I couldn't disagree more with what you said. Your idea sounds like what will “Kill Bridge”. If we eliminate all the events people enjoy playing in, like Peg suggested, people will not attend tournaments. The ACBL's mission is not just to run highly competitive events to determine who the very best player in the room is. Their mission is to provide a framework for bridge players to enjoy the game and to help promote the game and encourage more people to take it up. You might not agree with other people's choice of events, but that doesn't mean that those events shouldn't be offered just because you don't enjoy them. It doesn't mean that events that thousands of people do enjoy should be eliminated and they should be forced to enter your event so that you can feel the competition is more authentic. So often people forget all the newcomer and intermediate events, and bracketed KO's are helping to make it possible for the tournaments where the Platinum pairs are held to exist. Without those other events the best of the best wouldn't be able to enjoy their events at the same cost. Bridge isn't suppose to be just a competition. For most it is a hobby and a social activity. People have a right to enjoy the game whoever they please.

Richard:
to find the polls click the poll button to the left of Gavin's introduction video. That message will stay below the tab that says main feed and so you can always click the poll button so that just polls are displayed.

What has been your favorite bridge memory? What bridge accomplishment are you most proud of? What is it like to play with Jimmy? Congrats on all your recent success :) I was very excited to watch your team do so well in the Bermuda Bowl!
