ii) 2018 Palace Cup RR 3 bd 23, North

AFAIK, this is not COMP situation, COMP is when WE OPEN and THEY OVERCALL. When THEY OPEN and WE OVERCALL, is a “defensive bidding” position.

Now, better play transfer advances after our overcall (pleonasm, hope Mr. Burn will forgive me), I think is better.

Without trsf, I guess fit-show is best.

Found 12 cases, 11 with clubs, 1 with club void.

i) club void
2011, USBC, R8 segment 7, bd 95 OR, green vs red, Lall:
A865 Q863 K10875 -

ii) e.g.
2018, World Bridge Series, Mixed Teams, Final 4, Manfield vs Wilson,
bd 27, love all, OR
M Rosenberg, 3C bidder: AQ1083 A9 A AK864
C Willenken, Dbl bidder: K42 KQ4 Q7 QJ1093

etc…

There are cases when 3C is ART, with 4+hearts, and Dbl at 3C is still lead-directing.

Perhaps is ok to play like this

- at Fav Vul, as a takeout for the reds, for a PRE / or simply to take bidding space; could be generalized to any opp auction where they establish GF (*)

- and at any other VUL as a lead-directing.

(*) any GF by opps should trigger “our forcing to PRE”

So, this should be an easy consentient phrasing:

Let's study the rebids of a passed hand noncontested overcaller after a competitive advance.

(and I like “COMP ADV”, guess is best)

i) 4rth hand balancing

ii) 4rth hand LIVE (note: on some CCards, one must check 1NT LIVE NAT or not NAT, this is the case)

iii) advancing after 3rd hand's Neg Dbl

iv) advancing after 3rd hand's Pass

This is what I found in Kokish.

I found 40 occurrences.

In 2, 2S was passed, yes! Proved to be best contract (TGR Superleague 2009 and Indonesian Interclubs 2014).

In 2, a small slam was reached, one made and one failed.

In rest, partials and games.

If you want to see all positions, plz PM, I will send you the file.

I made a query.

Conditions:
- all vul or only opener's side
- opener has exactly 14 HCP
- opener has 2=2=6=3
- opener is in 3rd position

You can find 1NT versus 1D openers here:

1D

1NT
https://transfer.pcloud.com/download.html?code=5ZkuTE7ZS9aobMLvIijZalHZdDvxoth0ytzAxLNDpRjdY5W4v8g7

Plain TXT files.

You can draw your own conclusion.

p.s. Try to smile…

Thank you for the input, Al.

Yes, I try to minimize that, you can search for

i) exactly occurence, typing “Zia” will not show “Letizia”

ii) “start with”, typing “Laur” will return any what have Laur in the beginning

iii) “contains”, entering “ohn” will return any what starts with ohn, contains ohn or ends with ohn

Furthermore, you can enter two sequences, separated by a semicolon
for example, “pepsi;pszczola” - you'll get both occurences.

* * *

“incorrect or zero capture of bidding/play”

when you bid hands with your partner, or search boards by specific restrictions, the boards with zero bidding will be invisible

“please don't ask about problems with player identification”
I don't ask, never! But I fixed some segments, e.g. Cavendish…
When I find a readable and consistent electronic data, I import names on respective boards.
