Is it legal? Can't think of reason why it would't be. However, it borders on absurd and the penalties are insane. How about just making stiffer penalties for less than full disclosure. If they announce that they do this that is all we really want-right? It seems the board is over reacting to a particular hand instead of thinking this through

I think the time is here to do a way with appeals. Many of the reasons were stated by Jonathan but in addition it is time to let the refs make the decision(of course with input)and go on with the match. The decisions will be more consistent and players will know the score. If we think the quality has suffered then lets work better in training the directors. In this day of immediate information availability it is almost impossible for a committee to not know the score which puts added pressure where conflicts of interest inherently exist.Allowing the directors the to make the decisions makes it a level playing field for all.

Steve you should follow a tip Soloway gave me:chose your panel to fit the hand type.Clearly you should be giving this hand to LC and if he doesn't bid you might change your mind. I would pass-when I roll the dice I want the upside to be much higher

michael, noone showed diamonds naturally. When opponents take three level up cant do all.It was much more likely I had spades since 4spades seemed to excite me. However, I could have bid 5nt over 5ht signoff and that would be pick a slam and allow David to pick diamonds, I think five spades made it clear or should have, that we were playing in hearts only the level was in question.

Bob,you wrote exactly what i was thinking. He knew I had no first round club control and yet I was still trying. He knew I thought he had first round club control so why not make practical bid of 6ht!By the way for people who suggest I bid 6d over 5nt to make it clear ,I didnt want to play 6d which David told me after the match he would have passed!

Michael might I have passed four clubs with no club interest and slam interest? it also seems to me with David looking at all four kings and I having made two slam try's I must have more than two aces and heart q finally I thought five spades said I was looking for seven so I didnt see how five nt was pick a slam.

4d was just an artificial slam try I hoped I would find out if he had a limit raise or more.As to 5nt suggesting playing it 5s seems to me we are playing six or seven hearts and I thought bid other then 6ht confirmed the ace of clubs he already showed

Hey Danny, wouldnt we all like to be king for a day! I have one disagreement and that is with the reisinger.I think it is a terrific event as is and probably the most fun to play. If you make it longer it changes the context of the event from an all out press(play hardest on every trick for up to three days) to a test of stamina. While on paper making a great event longer seems good I am not sure if everyone would feel that way after playing Bthat format for seven days !

ENOUGH!!!! In the general scheme of live this issue has little significance. It effects few and while it is intrusive it is in a minimal way. After all, since I love to wear mismatching golf shirts and shorts it will effect me(assuming i get to play in another one) more than others. Yes we should be confortable and have some frredom of choice but come on its not that big of a deal! It has been said many times in this thread that bridge is a game not a sport-that is correct. As in any game when they post the rules play by them or dont play.
