I not worried that EW is going to get the winning bid so 1. Let’s find out what partner has anything at all.

The 3 confuses me. My second would have been 3 showing game interest.

I do understand going directly to 4S is going to be correct the vast majority of time but there's a slight chance to make slam. It seems we can explore it without much risk. My 4C (cue bid) shows my game going/slam interest and I'm this Hand's boss. Please cue bid if you have a control? If not, you bid 4S. If KD cue bid, I'll bid 4S. If KH cue bid, I'll bid 6S.

4C seems to me the bid. It’s not out question that partner has KH. If not partner can 4S

I only used Namath’s once with a much better player than me. Partner was BLM and thought it was a fun convention. He also liked Flanery but has since retired from bridge. We made 6S but many in the room made 6 or 7 (poor Lead) without using Namyats. None of my current partners care for it.

Would bidding 4H communicate slam interest or just pick one for game?

I account for 33+ HCP between E and S. Pass.

I must going with 5H. The double jump shows the real value of my Hand. My 12 HCP and 6H is a strong playing Hand. It says let’s go for slam. I expect N will have 3-4H and better than opening Hand.

If N doesn’t have at least two Ace he should pas.

i like David Boxley’’s earlier suggestion to post partner’s hand some days later. Maybe it’s just very human to shine the light on the bidding problem. Since I’m 375 payer my bidding question are, “What could we have bid?” No finger pointing. BTW, I did make the 2S cue bid. Afterwards I thought it was an underbid prevented us from getting to slam. I made several mistakes in posting this Hand. I’ll try to proof read better in the future. FYI, we got a good score with 680 and only one pair in our two sections (1/23) bid a made N6H. In the open section 5/13 pairs bid and made 6H. My curiosity got to me.

Thank you. Your explanation helps a lot. I’ll talk to my partner about changing our CC to Forcing.

Thanks for commenting because I thats what I’m hoping to hear. I don’t know what you mean about a negative free bid? Perhaps, your explanation can help me understand the BW basic 2/1 CC in Responses to Major Opening when an Overcall interferes. I read it as Weak but I may not understand it. We are just learning and willing to move on to better ways. Perhaps, there was a better bid 2N or 3N than 2? Or maybe Weak is not appropriate. That’s why I’m posing the bidding problem.

My description was incomplete. Our CC marked Weak when responder bids a new suit after an overcall of partner's Major Opener. This the follows the BW 2/1 CC.

I have only one partner that plays NAMYATS and this would be the Hand to do it. My other partners don’t like it.
