Nice photo, Tarek. All that's missing is Boye Brogeland. Sharif on your right, Sheriff on your left.

Christian,

I am full of admiration for the way Norway goes about things. Thomas Charlsen, in another thread, estimates that Norway foregoes 100 imps per championship by refusing to call the TD in situations where they can gain legally but, in the players' opinion, unsportingly.

Sportmanship is not about rules. You don't practice it for recognition. It is a deeply held personal belief.

I will leave you with the following :

Sport Australia - Hall of Fame
An Act of Sportsmanship - John Landy

An act of sportsmanship that took place at Olympic Park, Melbourne, during the Australian Mile Championship's in March 1956, in which John Landy stopped to help fallen Ron Clarke was voted the Finest Sporting Moment of the century at a Gala Dinner in 1999.

Landy's feat in going on to win the mile race has been overshadowed by the unselfish gesture that is part of Australian sporting folklore.

Shaking the bridge world to its foundations and now calling the Zimmerman team to account is a big 10 weeks in anyone's language.

I am very happy to dismiss the participation of team mates as an honest mistake as long as I can extend the same courtesy to the Polish team

I don't believe that teammates of cheats deserve punishment. I do however believe that they owe the bridge community an apology

Hanan, I congratulate the IBF for the professional and decisive way they have handled the FS affair. In my opinion, the IBF is the only bridge governing body to have emerged out of the cheating scandals with an enhanced reputation.

Congratulations Poland.
It was a hard fought match, and Sweden won many fans, so well done to them too.

PS. Ron, stop provoking people, will you :)
