But seriously, the fact remains that all 6 US teams qualified. Is the Bermuda Bowl a pure meritocracy? No. If it were, Europe & US would be assigned even more teams & people would probably cry racism. But as has been said elsewhere, each zone has (approximately) the right number of teams in it and how they assign those teams is up to them.
For instance, Canada is the (unfair?) BENEFICIARY of how our zone assigns teams because we don't have to tangle with the US teams to qualify. On the other hand, the US (albeit unintentionally) poaches most of our best talent.
If you want to complain about something, I'd complain more about the nation-hopping than the lane assignments. YMMV.
But seriously, there seems to be a big disconnect between the cynical bridge lawyers who seem to take the view that a team should do everything it can to compete, even if it brings disrepute upon the event and the game, and those who think that the integrity of the game and one's own reputation count for SOMETHING.
So it's certainly not unprecedented to at least claim 501c3 status. Maybe you could contact one of those clubs and maybe they'll be able to give you some guidance.

Bollocks.
The Israeli team withdrew EVEN THOUGH THE CHEATING PAIR WASN'T ON THEIR CHENNAI TEAM. The Monaco team withdrew. The Germans withdrew. All of those teams did the right thing.
If (any of) the Poles cheated to qualify, the Polish team should have withdrawn. Failing that, they shouldn't have been allowed to compete. Their medal will be COMPLETELY unjustified, and will be a slap in the face to the entire bridge community but particularly to those 3 teams who did the right thing and now are left looking like suckers.
If you cheat to qualify, you don't get to compete. No ifs, ands or buts!

I find this Butler-concealing idea very childish. Almost nanny-statish. They don't hide the low pairs' scores in a pairs game, why would they hide the low pairs' scores in a team game?
Hopefully now that the RR is over they will release them.

Wait a minute, a powerful political figure in a non-democratic country had a big score in a bridge game? What a shocker!
I find it quite amusing what people get worked up about these days. Not the slightest bit concerned about the imminent demise of their country & its culture/values, but outraged that 25! years ago a bunch of folks in a non-democratic country tanked on purpose (probably without even having been told to) while playing against one of the ruling elite.

I agree more with the ‘follow the laws’ crowd than the ‘make customers happy’ crowd. However, if the complaining pair didn't scratch anyway (or didn't gain extra masterpoints because of the ruling,) I can live with the director's decision.
This ruling is particularly egregious because the opposing system was essentially NATURAL. Complaining about a natural system seems bizarre.

I would ASK to see the evidence. I'd send Boye a PM requesting it. Have they done so? Has their request been denied?
Then I'd issue a public statement: We'd withdraw if we were shown proof (or a confession) that our team qualified by cheating. We have asked to be shown such proof. No such proof has been proffered. So we're playing.

Did you not notice that ALL 6 US teams qualified for the quarterfinals?
