Having received a more detailed response from Mikael privately, I'm prepared to express my professional opinion:

It's a case of Stockholm Syndrome, one of the worst I've seen, in fact. I'm afraid it's terminal.

I've had women I wasn't interested in fornicating with indicate an interest in fornicating with me.

It never occurred to me that I should ruin their lives for it.

As for whether men are, on average, better players than women: I don't see how any rational person can look at the evidence and think otherwise. I don't think that generalization particularly MATTERS, but it IS accurate.

But having lived for several years in Austin, the land of Mildred & Tobi, I don't see how any sane person can think that there aren't women who play the game better than 99.9% of male players either.

Ed, Saturday Night Live expressed it even better. Here are 3 simple rules to follow to avoid sexual harassment:

https://vimeo.com/30042289

Edit: For those reluctant to click random links the 3 rules are:

1. Be handsome.

2. Be attractive.

3. Don't be unattractive.

I also should have mentioned that this clip is over 10 years old when SNL could occasionally produce something clever & funny.

Melanie,

Even Mr. Trump has to pander sometimes. Nobody in their right mind truly believes that the US will ever outlaw 1st trimester abortions or contraceptives.

Ed,

I don't believe you've been forthcoming enough to let us answer your question one way or the other. This link should answer it definitively for you:

Ellis,

Well okay, a different Margaret then: Margaret Sanger. But she's much less famous.

Of course the greatest living woman is Ann Coulter, though I think that Lauren Southern is well on her way to surpassing Ann & hopefully will be Canada's next Prime Minister.

Melanie,

Your guess at the ‘subtext’ couldn't be more off the mark. I believe in free speech. People should be able to espouse whatever ludicrous/insane/delusional points of view they wish.

And if you think white males AREN'T being told not to express ourselves, you haven't been paying attention. 3rd wave feminists & ethnocentric groups like BLM do it ALL THE TIME. I'm glad we agree that it “sounds absurd” to do so. Because it is.

Edit: For example, here's a BLM advocate at a vigil for the mostly-Gay Orlando shooting victims. https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=Ge9pHidD8sc Disgusting racism like this is condoned, even celebrated, by many Cultural Marxists on the “Left.”

I doubt Helen Sobel would approve. She lived in an era when men were men. When young men stormed the beaches of Normandy. When people had manners & morals.

Now we all compete to be seen as the biggest victim.

To describe Ian's comment as sexual harassment is to diminish true victims of sexual harassment. Deplorable.

Thanks for proving my point, though.

Danny, I was going to watch the videos but my friend Omereck Erhay told me not to bother. Are they good?

I agree with Michal. It definitely sounds like she thinks the vast majority of men think themselves superior to female bridge players. Otherwise the comment makes no sense. Is she directing the comment at “the vast majority of men who think themselves superior to female bridge players” but NOT at some undefined subset of the men who think themselves superior to female bridge players? Nonsense.

Few people in life have as many privileges, intangible advantages & blessings as a beautiful young woman from a 1st world country. But we have to find SOMETHING to complain about.

“That comment is out of this world” is not an argument.

https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Censorship_in_Sweden

“Sweden was in 1766 the first country to introduce a constitutional law where censorship was abolished and the freedom of the press guaranteed. The Law on the Freedom of Printing of 1766 was written by a committee of the parliament, during the Swedish ”Era of Freedom“ (frihetstiden.)”

Your country has so much to be proud of. Don't be the generation that pissed it all away, Mikael.

If you think about it, just the act of taking something a woman posted on Facebook & REPOSTING IT FOR HER here is kinda sexist, no?

Virtue signalling is a huge problem & gets in the way of talking candidly about the serious issues we face.

I was going to say … I read the thread title and thought how odd to memorialize him here.
