Michael is correct. I want to answer no to the first and yes to the second.

I no longer play any pair events without subsidy. I just don't enjoy them any more. I've won my share and now cede them to the field.

I don't like them because there is a different top on every board. Might be 1 IMP, might be 24. Now it depends on which pair you encounter for each hand.

I'm sorry I was enroute home from NY today and arrived around midnight. Is there a Shiva house I can visit?

I would play with you but I would need a financial incentive.
Probably could provide a good partner

I spent some time in the Flea House over the years - mainly in the sixties. Where I saw the most of Harold though was in the Village.

Oh, I love hearing stories about my late occasional bridge partner and frequent teammate, Moo Cow … Don Cowan

David, you've reminded me of a team game I played once where Harry Stappenbeck and Paul Heitner were partners.
I called them, ‘The Trylon and the Perisphere.’

That's a shock. He seemed in good health the last time I saw him not that long ago. RIP and condolences to his wife. I'm 78 and he was several years younger than I

I'm 78 and I don't feel my bridge abilities diminished much, if at all. I have fewer responsibilities and can devote as much time as I like to the game

And don't forget the redoubtable Waldemar Von Zedtwitz who won a world championship at a more advanced age than mine.

I did commentary for a lot of the BB and frankly no one was going to beat this Polish team this week. They were magnificent. Congratulations are definitely in order.

@Lars: I agree - I saw it when it was still Leningrad, just before my first WC in Stockholm. Loved everything about it including (lucky me) the White Nights.

I'll make sure someone will get them from you. Will you be staying at the tournament hotel? A friend will be staying there and caddying.

And of course you should share them between Wayne and me.

Eventually mine will go to UNLV's gaming department where there is a section of bridge library that I donated to them.

I'll be back in Toronto next September. Not sure about San Francisco but a friend could take them home for me from there.

I begged to be allowed to remain on the old BBO and that is where I comment on vugraph and play and work on systems. IMO it is much more user-friendly and it works just fine to date.

In Paris you put your arm out, hand up to stop traffic and cross. I did that one day and a car ran over my foot!
