Same. Specially in MP. I hate forcing 1nt. (Play 2/1)
And never had a problem, like missing games etc.

When opps have agreed , are pretty much the same as or. And according to the poll this would have worked against quite a few players. I did ask both of the meaning, the 3nt bidder said LOL. And east said Gambling, usually long suit and stop.

Partner 2nt is just asking. Tho whit that hand I agree, just bid 4, hes not passing 3, or looking for slam, so no point in bidding anything else. But then we would've never ended up whit a top score :p. Hehe

Actually, The lead of a will give you 1 down and 20% on the board. A high or ace of and shift would give you 3 down and 100%.

I know West to be a average+ player. He can play good, but also very bad. Older guy, so nothing crazy. He got a huge misplaced ego and a huge temper. He has also have big chip on his shoulder when it comes to me, hehe.

We can see on our own hand, that he can't have a running minor…. So his suit has to be s now Imo. Or AK and KQJ10xxx(x) in clubs. And maybe a stop. But wouldn't you bid 4-5 clubs whit that hand after the X?

I decided to see the table, but dint want to play the A, so I started whit the K which obvious wasn't his suit.

This was prefect when dummy showed up whit: x 10xx Qxxx 108xxx, and partner played the 4 (Low encourage, high low=even). The K heldt the trick. Now the rest was easy,… A and jack witch also wont, small went to partners K and declarer trowed a . Now partner took KQJ of clubs for down 3 and 100% score.

West had Axx AKQJxxx 98 x

The other tables was in 4/5 making 11, and 5/6HX whit one or 2 down.

Kind of surprising to see only 2 players found a high lead ;). But still early, only got under 20 votes yet.

Game force. Opener shows min/max/singel or void after 1/2M-2nt. Responder is allowed to sign of in 3 sp only If I show a min.

“If he thought he only had nine trumps, and was told everyone followed to the first, he would have played the King rather than saying he had to lose a trick to the Queen. Shame on the defenders for even thinking about being entitled to that Queen.”

This Is the only right anwser Imo.

Right….So if is J is a penalty card you should run the Q off course. He must use the Jack. What am I missing?

If West have the Jack as a penalty card you should always play the Q and let it run Imo. Thats not an unethical play in my mind.

When this hand was played I was sure Boye took 3nt as a running minor, gambling, and din't ask before he doubled. Only thing that makes sense Imo. Really exiting match. Best one in a long time. Congrats to both teams.

I was surprised Linquist dint lead A and more in that hand. The auction screamed for a lead Imo.

I can't imagine ever using “normally” in a description of this auction.

Not going to argue whit that. Its not a normal bid at all, but what else can it mean?
And it happens thats opps bid game, you save, and they upgrade there hand and bid a cold slam. Been on both sides of that one several times.

Anyway, Your missing the point of the post. The point is that i had to Q-, to avoid a lead in the suit….Only 5 can do that, Opps believed i had a spade void, no matter what they thought of the auction. They did not lead spades. And i suspect most won't at the table. Not even you.

Yeah agree, i should have used the bidding layout. Never used it so choose the simple solution.
5 now normally shows a void and 2 places to play. (usually - now). Not inv to grand.

Should have made it a lead problem first. My guess is most would lead a .
