It seems in this study rare for most people is around 5 to 10%…. I think it's a study with Dutch people so you can decide what to think of it ;)

I would think north would/might have played the 10 of diamonds if he held the ace of hearts, making staying with spades for sure better…

I quite like Richard's suggestion, it would at least give some insight. Maybe the bots shouldn't know all of partners hand, but only something (perhaps randomly length and/or HCP in a suit). I think the algorithm should still be able to find something, because bots with more info will make less mistakes as well.

I think the first test of Nic is not really a test of the algorithm, but more of trust, because sure the algorithm should give the same results given the same data.

Does the book also include data from the seniors and women? I once discussed and we thought there would be less cheating, but it would be nice to see the data, also pre and post 2015 data.

This calculation seems wrong, if you leave out hands played by cheaters it doesn't mean everyone that played that hand was a cheater… likely only 1 pair, so I think you should almost half the 20÷.

Ok. I don't know but I guess you do, since Zimmerman said they applied for one.

I guess it won't be very hard for eu citizens as I've had several friends working in Switzerland and never complaining about it, but that is all I know.

@Patrick True statement but not sure what it has to do with this discussion…

@Nedju I don't know or don't even say this would be wrong, I just don't think that if that is what you require, people have to be really living in that place to obtain it (and that it would solve things of what you call fake residency)

I don't know anything about Switserland, but I guess rules should be general for all countries, so I meant my comment more general (and in response to Nedju who claimed that it was very easy to make rules about residency). Within the EU you don't even need a working permit (neither did I need one when I worked in Norway). Also I'm pretty sure being registered in a country is not always related to being liable for taxes in that country.

I'm not saying that I'm in favor of stricter rules or anything, I just don't agree with Nedju regarding his statements about proofs of residency.

Sure but I think all players that relocated had this. It's also very easy to obtain and many countries don't even check if you deregisered in another country. So I don't think this will be a very strict condition.

This is not true for all relocations Nedju. Especially not within the EU. Also living in Norway I didn't need a residence permit because I'm from the EU. So it's not as easy as you say.

I don't agree that the doubleton is useful… either your partner knows you have it or your partner has a doubleton as well

Also, isn't it strange 3N is to play? You have a 4-4 fit with both a 5crd suit on the side, how often would you want to play 3N?

No I play 2N as something else (55 in the other suits), indeed more ways of bidding 2N would be too much…

2 (so you can after that still decide who plays NT) .. of course you need to add in some transfers on the 2-level (for example 2=, 2= and 2 = )… you give up a nf 2C (which you are less likely to bid when you open 1 with all bal hands)

I thought that partner maybe just denies a minor suit control for signing off in 4H. Maybe something like A Axxxxx xxx xxx … but with that hand he should maybe bid on after 5C. Could he have A QJxxxx Jxxx xx or something? I think that hand might not do a slam try. Perhaps A QJxxxxx JTx xx?

If you think partner denies a minor suit control it would have been better to KC in stead of 5C.
