I'm sorry, if both pairs are absent minded enough to enter the same incorrect score, both deserve whatever they get.

It doesn't matter. if both sides have to enter the details, on two different Bridgemates, such errors will be flagged automatically.

For most kinds of errors - use two Bridgemates (or two smartphones with scoring appss) per table - one per partnership. Any discrepancies, different entries by both sides, could be automatically flagged.

Careful Chris, you are about to become branded as a troll. Questioning authorities seems like a dangerous past time on Bridge “Winners”.

Seems like now very little has been left unsaid now once Mr. Welland has vented his spleen. “This is not the way bridge is meant to be played” - this is surely also not the way one should express inflammatory, blanket accusations as well.

Or just take a deep breath, tone it done and stop assuming that you are always right. Could also think for a moment that other people can have their opinions too. Just a though.

Dear Amy. You are aggressive and you are attacking people for no reason.

PS. Think about it Amy. Don't respond. Just think about it.

Just who and why are you calling a “troll” Patrick? Sabine has thrown a few huge, blanket accusations. I'd love to know some details.

“Our opponents seemed determined to inflict damage on us at all costs, sometimes with means I would consider outside the realm of fairness.”

I'd love to learn how much different was it from any other bridge event - was it unusual for your opponents to try and do well for themselves?

Please give us some example of their actions which you consider to be “outside the realm of fairness”.

Let's. The OP never accused them of cheating.

“As a fan of the game, I like that Netherlands beat Poland, given what happened last year with the Polish team” - really? Do tell what “happened last with with the Polish team”. I'd love to hear. What was it that upset you so much?

2♥/2♠ – 0-6 HCP, 6+ card suit.

Really dislike that part of the system. There is a range clash with the strong part of 1 (18+ for 1 opposite 5-6 for 2/). It's also very low frequency and doesn't seem to help by excluding those hands from other responses (mainly 1). It would be much better to play 2/ as either weak two types (6-9 or so - just strong enough to create FG opposite the strong version of 1) or old fashioned FG responses to simplify slam sequences.

And the moral of this fairy tale? The kingdom has a ridiculous law system and the ACDC had very poor lawyers. Fortunately the rest of the world enjoys the sound of the bells and the game still prospers. As an added bonus, after the game stopped being played in the kingdom, the rest of the world enjoyed it even more, when once banned bells where again permitted into the game.

Can you please stop this crap? “current Bermuda Bowl title holders would then be confirmed as having ‘won’ that title by cheating” The current BB holder did not win by cheating - unless you are accusing them of doing it during the last BB. Their teammate during the European championships cheated. There is a huge and material difference between those two facts.

Phil,

Not that it matters, and that's why I didn't mention it in the post, but the methods were pre-alerted. They are on the system card, listed on the front page, in the section called, oddly enough “Pre-alerts”. Two copies of the system card were placed on the table, both were studied by the opps before the play started.

“ reviews from nasty people who only know some of the facts who are trying to make themselves feel better about themselves by demeaning others.
Michal's review falls into this latter camp” - no Richard, you are wrong I don't try to make myself better by demeaning others. I simply call a spade a spade (and a heart and heart and et cetera). I see no reason or place for niceties where simple facts are enough. If you can't face the facts and have to hide behind a fake facade it's your problem, not mine.

The program itself is really, really bad.
1) Installs to a non-standard directory.
2) Does no use standard installer.
3) Doesn't create Start menu shortcut
4) No idea why it “needs” Win 7 as it's clearly not a standard Windows program - no standard menus, keyboard shortcuts, does not follow Windows standards (Windows key - right arrow for example to move the window to the right hand side of the scree).
5) The actual play of the cards is horrible. It feels and looks like playing on Windows 3.1 running an old 386.

It would work better even as a series of LIN files to import into BBO - oh yeah, can't sell those.

If you have paid any money to a developer - you need a refund. If you have created the program yourselves - well, I think it's great that you can create a program with such a wonderful, retro look and feel, like you know, early 80s. WELL done.

I see, so it's using a 2006 “engine” called “Double Dummy Problem Solver 1.0”. That's great programming indeed, so no, definitely doesn't “need” Windows 7.
