It's all well and good apologizing, but if you really mean it then I'm sure you will commit to refunding in full any monies earned from playing with your ill partner, not only because you have cheated her out of a proper game, but also because of your ridiculous assertions last night along the lines of everything was a guess or some such, which looking at board records was just clearly untrue and frankly I think could be considered defamation of character.

I don't know you, I don't know your partner (who I don't want to name out of privacy), but I think you should certainly pay back any money to anyone that you played with in this cheating stint, consider having a time away from bridge when it returns face to face, and then maybe do some free coaching or something to try and redeem yourself. then maybe come back after that. This “apology” only after absolutely blatant evidence come to light is a mild step in the right direction, but only very mild imo.

Throwing your partner under the bus with comments like you are just guessing every board … come on take as an example first 5 and last 5 hands from the last session you played:

1. http://www.bridgebase.com/tools/handviewer.html?bbo=y&myhand=M-116265507-1592644651 - normal 1N bid, normal pass

2. http://www.bridgebase.com/tools/handviewer.html?bbo=y&myhand=M-116265521-1592644651 - okay, a little strong for 3S, but it's hardly some crazed bid, 5 of the other 11 humans made the same opening

3. http://www.bridgebase.com/tools/handviewer.html?bbo=y&myhand=M-116265549-1592644651 - good double, normal pass over 3H

4. http://www.bridgebase.com/tools/handviewer.html?bbo=y&myhand=M-116265523-1592644651 - normal for a club player to pass 1H, and good play playing low on the spade

5. http://www.bridgebase.com/tools/handviewer.html?bbo=y&myhand=M-116265551-1592644651 - a little conservative imo after this “inspired” 3C, but supporting with support … again hardly a crazed action.

last 5

14. http://www.bridgebase.com/tools/handviewer.html?bbo=y&myhand=M-116265399-1592644651 - your worst hand of the set. I think she did fine volunteering 3H, am I surprised that it's a 4-0 H split when you opt to pass with 4 card hearts and no spade wastage … to be honest no.

15. http://www.bridgebase.com/tools/handviewer.html?bbo=y&myhand=M-116265413-1592644651 - Possibly she should have bid 3S, but I think passing is fine at MP

16. http://www.bridgebase.com/tools/handviewer.html?bbo=y&myhand=M-116265429-1592644651 - all seems quite routine

17. http://www.bridgebase.com/tools/handviewer.html?bbo=y&myhand=M-116265444-1592644651 - okay, not the best defence, but it happens!

18. http://www.bridgebase.com/tools/handviewer.html?bbo=y&myhand=M-116265304-1592644651 - clearly a very pushy 2N bid!

so yes there are mistakes in there, but from what I've seen this notion that you're on a wild guess on just about every board is hugely insulting to your partner, and an extreme overreaction.

So what constitutes a pattern? Maybe I make a bad play three times in a row that happens to work three times in a row, not because I'm cheating, but because I'm not a good player and I don't know the odds.

I really dislike this we can ban anyone with no reason mentality. I barely play any bridge right now and am obviously a non expert player. But on this, I just think it's really dangerous. I mean I'm a reasonable enough club player, no expert and make a ton of mistakes every session. But I think at times I have moments or indeed full sessions that I would say I make actions that are at least expert level that would be beyond my “normal level”. Maybe I'm just more focused, maybe I just get lucky - I don't know.

I reiterate i'm a very very average player most of the time but if I happen to have a day when I'm just on it and do some good things in this system am I banned? I'm obviously not going to play any of these competitions, but my concern is bunch of experts see a non-expert happen to have a great day and leap to a conclusion of cheating

Hi Kyle, I think it's great what you're doing. I posted a few videos on Youtube myself a while back but got bored and stopped it. I've watched a few videos on your channel and they're really great, but my one bit of advice is to slow down a little - once you miscounted the hand leading to a potential missed slam, another there was a squeeze on either hand but you talked about it being on only one hand. Obviously you're a very good player, but maybe just chill a little, especially if the aim is to attract new players to the game.

Don't mean it critically, I like what you do a lot, just some advice!

Thanks all, I dithered over cashing Ace or running 9 … I ran the 9 and it was stiff 10 offside :)

double anything where the bidding seems a little off, they often panic run to something mental

situations like Axxx opp Qtx lead small to Q 100% they put up K if they have it to save u a guess, same with a lot of squeeze situations they'll never blank honors

don't bother with slam invites other than blackwood, splinters and cue bids are pointless with gib just blast it or not

if the GIB leads trumps most often trumps split terribly

not partner, but unknown opps once had a mad auction to 4H which my partner doubled. RHO asked what the double was and I said penalty, which it had to be at that stage. I was looking at a few tricks and this bloke went into the tank, I couldn't believe he was thinking of XX. anyway a while later out comes 5h! when that obviously immediately got doubled he turned and said, “Oh, I thought you might do that” -1100 or -1400 or whatever it was didn't make any difference to the resounding 0% they got at MP, but it was hard to keep a straight face and definitely the strangest/worst bid I've seen!

what kind of tosser calls director here ffs, of course it's clueless evaluation by south, but it's the sort of hand evaluation that probably 99% of bridge players would make. Comments like it should be described as a mixed raise, u really think joe bloggs has heard of a mixed raise let alone could accurately describe one? To adjust the score here and side with a likely experienced player taking advantage of a less experienced player is a big factor of what's killing bridge, it's just a total nonsense in my opinion
