I take no responsibility for the format. Would be better if we received actual numbers by year instead of %s. So reading district 1 from left to right, the current total of 5,398 members is 1.65% lower than 3 years ago (2016), 0.67% lower than 2 years ago (2017), and 0.95% lower than one year ago. District 1 ranks 9th among the 25 districts for membership change in the past year.
Ugly presentation.

Only 4 districts showed growth since last year.

2 forces to 2. When they interfere, bidding to the level we are forced is weaker than passing. 2 immediately is weaker than pass.

Or why Florida is its own district with more than 20,000 members when the average district size is 6600. Go figure.

Kokish by opener, Wold (Spiral or 3344) by responder.
If we agree to raise on 3 only with a 0/1 in the hand, then the response to 2N shows the longer minor, weak (3N shows 3 strong). Else 3 weak, 3 strong ! & respectively.

Through 2, X is weak. 2N and over, Double is negative. Above 3 the meaning is values but no clear direction.

No debate we should all reduce our carbon footprint. Realistically, economics and not environmental concerns will drive major tournaments to computers. Human nature is what it is. I’d wish for someone to invent how to measure and record biometrics, sound, light, and electronic transmissions so that individuals could play securely anywhere. Some day…

I find it interesting in terms of the Masterpoint Awards (see p19)

http://web2.acbl.org/codification/MPBOOK.pdf

that an 8 team bracket with bracket average MPS per team above 44000 earns the maximum award regardless of bracket!!

43.33 MPs x 0.680 bracket size adjustment factor = 29.46 MPs.

More aggressive in competitive bidding, more aggressive in doubling for penalties, more aggressive in giving the opponents the last choice, more aggressive balancing

(Some duplication here).

I still consider that the better design is to have an open bracket for 12-15 teams at the top and then bracketed RR for the remaining teams where feasible. Depends on number of tables.
