Could pass over 2 not have been a “trap pass” ?

Apologies if I missed such iniciative, but does this situation not call for the pro community, to organise in some kind of an union? Then you could give guidelines to all others and those guidelines could not be ignored by event organizers.

As for Sabine's stand point - I think it is better than not participating at all. My partner and I attended the Venice tournament, where FF appeared and I can tell you that almost nobody noticed, that the Harris team members refused to play. If they would just refuse to play against FF and his partner, that would be much more “public” imo. I am sure also many amateur pairs would follow.

I prefer 3 instead of 2. We play it as 4+ card fit, 9+ pts.

We play T-Walsh and have accepted the fact, that we often can't find optimal diamond part score contract. It is a negative side of the system. We would bid 1NT with 1st hand and 2 with the 2nd.

We play supp X/XX, but not compulsory. We follow these rules:
Supp X/XX apply when the opening bid was 1 level, responder bids 1M, RHO bids below 2M. Even if these conditions are met, opener does NOT bid supp X/XX if:
- RHO bid 1NT
- another bid by opener would better describe the hand
- opener has defensive hand (points in Opp's suits, lack of A and K)
- opener can't risk responder's bids beyond 2NT

But partner didn't bid 2NT, so she doesn't hold minors 5-5. Knowing she has a singleton or even void, she must hold 3 spades …
I passed, so did all other tables (which in our club doesn't mean much). The opps, some older players, who used to be very good some years ago, said, they would never pass. I checked with some other very strong players, they all would have bid 2, some even directly after 2.
So, I am really confused now, since I see that some (most) extremely strong players voted for pass in this poll.
My partner held Axx,x,K109x,Axxxx, the opener Jxxx,AQ,AQxx,Kxx. 2 went down 1 or 2, 4 makes.
