Once in 4 hearts you can see that the only losers are in trumps - and you would like to only lose two of them. A diamond is led.  Obviously if trumps are 3-2 you will only lose two of them: the aim is to lose two only if they are 4-1 with a stiff K or Q offside.

Since you don't intend to finesse in hearts there is no need to lead them from dummy.

So at trick two you ruff a club (trump shortening #1)

You now play Ace and another trump - South wins with the 8 and returns another diamond to dummy.

You ruff another club (trump shortening # 2) and cash two diamonds, please to see South follow.

A spade to dummmy follows with another club ruff (trmump shortening # 3) leaving you with J9

You play a second spade to dummy Ace and can now lead through South's QT to make the Jack.

Now I would like to claim that I saw this at the table, however I actually played a trump at trick two but was lucky in that South returned a club when in with the 8 of hearts allowing me to shorten my trumps.

And Yes! I was lucky that South had the perfect distribution.
