I think it would be the best solution against unwanted persons to announce the big tournaments as "INVITATIONAL ONLY" (see Bermuda Bowl). In other words, an "invitational" tournament would mean that the organizer can refuse anyone's entry without justification.
Thank you, Mr Puczynski. Your first proposal is the proper solution against cheaters:
"Tournament organizer needs to be able to refuse player registration without providing reason for it."
This rule should be applied everywhere in every competition.
Playing tournament bridge is not a right just a possibility.
