ATB, or is bridge just too tough?
agree it is time to run for North....
Cris Barrere's bidding problem: Jx AT98x QJxx Jx
My meta rule is the I doubt there are enough trumps to justify 3 over 3..unless partner intended the double as take out of course
Malcolm Pryor's bidding problem: AQ42 A92 2 AQ954
Phillip, you have got to the crux of the problem - partner had K8 843 AQ95 J873 and the club slam is not great; if you bid 3H you may still get to 3N if partner bids 3S or you might be able to sign off in 4N at some point
Malcolm Pryor's bidding problem: --- T652 KT9863 T76 answer to yr question on the methods being played in this problem..over 2 spades 2nt would be very weak 2 minor 2 suiter 3 minor would be very weak single suiter in the minor and double would show a weak hand with one trick in their suit ...
Malcolm Pryor's bidding problem: --- T652 KT9863 T76
spot on Richard...rightly or wrongly 3 diamonds over 2 spades would have shown 6 or 7 diamonds with effectively zero H C P
Malcolm Pryor's bidding problem: AT5 AKJ863 AJT9 ---

Malcolm Pryor's bidding problem: A AJ752 96 J9852
to 1Spade response was forcing for one round
Ron Lel's bidding problem: KJ92 K5 AKJT6 AJ
I include primary support in the hand types for a jump shift - the only options are primary support plus good values in the jump suit or a self sufficient suit without primary support, partner relays to 3 Hearts and now I bid 3 Spades to show the first hand type ...
What do you say if anything?
essential to discuss to develop the partnership but essential to emphasize positives even if they are hard to find..I would say I thought 3 hearts would be a great bid in a lot of situations as the immediate response despite the flat tricks and putting pressure on ...
Ron Steele's bidding problem: KJ954 8 Q93 A952
partner could have a hand with opening values unable to bid over or double 1 Heart..for instance a 13 count with 3 spades and 4 hearts...that hand would want to cue but not unilaterally drive to game..I think in principle a cue in this auction is at ...
