A Precision Club Corner
You've cited a good reference, as Regal's book reflects methods proven through decades of experience. One arguable issue is whether 2h and 2s responses might optionally be employed as one-round forces (but not, of course, by passed hands). Perhaps a little may be lost in not retaining the ...
A Precision Club Corner
Before establishing a meaning for a four level response to 2C, we should examine the meaning desired for a 2C-2M and a 2C-3M response. What are the weakest & strongest hands you'd allow for each? Who is willing to argue the forcing interpretation; the nonforcing? IMO, only after we've said all we can say about the basics should we be examining the esoteric.
A Precision Club Corner
Well, if it works for you ... but I'll side with Henry Bethe's June 23 comment that while a method may work, big club methods that diverge too far from the core of Precision should be called something else.

Thanks for entering the discussion, Larry. I've never considered opening 2C xfer responses to 2H and 2S and would be interested in reading the experiences of you and others who use them. Also, I have a question: How do you locate major 4-4 fits using your scheme? (More about ...
A Precision Club Corner
For those following the thread, I'd ask that we move on to a more fundamental Precision topic, the 2C opening. For starters, what are our partnership expectations for 2C in terms of playing strength, distribution, and count? If we require a 6-card suit, what allowances (if any) do we ...
A Precision Club Corner
Alright Lorne, let's start a discussion strain that considers 2C - ?. Some essentials to settle would be a) our minimum expectations for 2C, b) our continuations after 2C - 2D, c) our continuations after 2C - 2M, d) our best utilization of 2C - 2NT. That seems enough for now.
A Precision Club Corner
One can't deny that positive transfers will sometimes result in spectacular Precision auctions, but the strains they place on Precision are often insidious. Adding transfers requires a partnership to define defenses and counter-defenses to what are often unforeseen complications. While partnerships can adopt transfers, mine have rejected them. I ...
