Favorite Bridge Memory
1998 when I read that Jeff Meckstroth got Le Bridgeur Award (Best Played Hand of the Year) for a brilliant play in the 1997 Bermuda Bowl. Meckstroth did indeed deserve the award, but the reporter, Jean-Paul Meyer of France, did (for reasons unknown to me) not report the board correctly. Books are written about the hand, and they have not gotten it right...
Bridge Accomplishments
Agreeing with Geir when he needed help convincing Tor that RomanKeyCardBlackwood is better than the good old 4 aces Blackwood.

Accepting the use of performance enhancing drugs is accepting cheating. How many would say that 2 months suspension for Fantunes would be a serious punishment? Then why is it a serious punishment for a baseballer? Or for an athlete?
EBL Convicts Fisher-Schwartz
Being subjected to random and continuous testing is not a punishment, it is obvious that everyone should be tested dozens of times during the year, on and off season. 100 games suspension for second offense is really a joke. Should be lifetime. Using performance enhancing drugs is cheating, just to ...
EBL Convicts Fisher-Schwartz
@Art Korth Performance enhancing drugs gives the users an edge that will last throughout their whole careers. 2 months suspension (50 games) is not just a joke. It is an insult to all those who compete fair.
EBL Convicts Fisher-Schwartz
@Karen Allison "If you mean 50 game suspensions in baseball for using Performance Enhancing Drugs shows they don't seem to mind ..." That is less than 2 months. It is hardly a slap on the hand, it is a joke. On the other hand, baseball is not a sport anyway.

@Ellis I have in no manner or way suggested or implied that anyone should decide for the offended to report the crime to the authorities. Nor have I suggested or implied that ACBL or anyone else should force anybody to file criminal charges. What I have written is that a ...

@Dick Willey "EBL events or activities". It is a matter of fact. The verdict, as publicated, says so. "I was unaware that the EBL had the authority to dictate the behavior of other organizations. Indeed, were the EBL to tell - say - the ACBL that the ACBL could allow F+S ...

@Karen Allison X-games was parts in Oslo, Norway this year. The organizers refused to have WADA perform tests. Norwegian WADA declined to recognize the shit as clean sport.
EBL Convicts Fisher-Schwartz
Bridge is not a sport. But if one get caught of using doping in sports one dont just get suspended from participating in that sport in ones own country. One get suspended from every sport in every country worldwide. The exception is the Big 3 sports + baseball in USA/Canada ...

@Ellis The records in your cases should be open to the public. 1. The content is important. Telling someone that stink because of lack of personal hygiena is not rude in itself. Telling someone that smell because of smoke is not rude, but smells of coming from an intolerant person ...

To those of you that cheer because you think Fisher and Schwartz due to this verdict are banned from bridge for 5 years. They are only banned from participating in EBL events or activities for a period of 5 years. That is what Aubrey considers banning cheaters from ...
